Hunger

A Horror Short Film.

For the "Cinematic Frights: Exploring the Horror Genre" course (FILM-370-01) with producer Steven Stanley, I produced a visceral short film titled "Hunger." The narrative unfolds in a bleak wooded area, where Eva and Florence discover a chilling scene linked to a macabre family story from the 1950s. This gore-infused film delves into the depths of human desperation and primal instincts, focusing on a young girl's gruesome survival amidst horrific circumstances. The technical execution, featuring close-ups and unsettling sound design, amplifies the horror, making "Hunger" a thought-provoking exploration of the extremities of human behavior when driven by basic needs. This project not only adhered to the horror filmmaking standards discussed in our class but also pushed the boundaries of psychological and narrative depth within the genre.
